It has been an excitingly busy holiday. I felt like a true business person, I sold several custom pillows and a few pillow pattern - I was quite thrilled. It was difficult - several sleepless nights - but I managed to create some handmade treasures for my home as well as a few friends homes. One of my favorite creations was a poinsettia dish towel that I made for myself and...

[caption id="attachment_522" align="alignleft" width="193" caption="Shattered :("][/caption] Maybe I should have entitles this post how I restored a broken clay pot. Or I could have called it clay pot mod - (as in modification). Anyway, here is what happened. I came across some clay pots in a nursery in my neighborhood. They looked a bit different that the ones I normally see in the home improvement stores, so I decided to purchase 2 of them @ $1.99 each. My Plan was to paint them cobalt blue - my favorite color - embellish them and put them in my sewing room. I...

Or should I say new Edition? In early August  one of my nieces' will be welcoming a new baby boy to the family. It has been a busy couple of months, so I have fallen behind on making the usual handmade welcome package. But all is not lost, last weekend I came across a few items I made 'back in the day' - about 16 years ago - I made them for my son's room. [caption id="attachment_380" align="alignnone" width="400" caption="Yepee"][/caption] I remember working on them on the train ride in to NY city where I was taking PASCAL classes @...
