Silk Ribbon Sampler

I have been teaching them a few of my tricks. Last week's lesson was how to do silk ribbon embroidery. I created the project above to include a variety of silk ribbon stitches. Frankly, I crammed in as much stitch variation  as I could:) - We did lazy daises, french knots, colonial Knots, stem stitch, roses, carnations - we even played with polymer clay (for the vase). I have been stalking the squirrels in my backyard - I wanted to take a picture - I needed a reference for a pillow I was dreaming up. Finally, one stopped long enough for me to snap a photo, but the image freaked me out! A Beautiful Day

Yesterday my son got up early, got on his bike, rode 1.75 miles to my favorite nursery and picked out this beauty. I placed it in a vase that my best friend had made for me in Haiti. indeed, it was a beautiful day. Mothers Day Projects

Every year I try to create something special for the moms in my life. This years I made wine glass and bottle charms. I attached different color crystal beads to differentiate each charm.
