Sitting on my Favorite chair. Look at these precious pups, don’t they look like they are saying “I am ready for my close up”?
I was flipping through my illustration stash – looking for some inspiration to create an house warming gift for a friend. I came across these dogs that I had ‘sitting’ around for ages. I don’t remember what my inspiration was for drawing these dogs – I think I did them because they were cute, or maybe, I did them as coloring pages for a niece or nephew. Anyway, my friend loves dogs more than she likes humans, so I knew they would be perfect to use in a project for her.
Since I am going through my pillow making phase, I decided to use the dog illustrations on a pillow. Now all I have to do is combine these cute dogs with something ultra modern with a pop of color.
I decided to ‘pose’ the dogs on my dining room chairs. I took a picture of the chair, opened it in Illustrator and created a vector image of the chair.
I wanted the color of the chair to be more vibrant, so that the colors will pop once it is printed. Orange and Yellow should do the trick. I think those colors will look great on a black and white checkered background.
Once the design was complete, I did a mock up in Photo Shop to get an idea of the final look.
BTW, I made a pair
See ya next time.
