Sitting on my Favorite chair. Look at these precious pups, don’t they look like they are saying “I am ready for my close up”?

dogs and puppies I was flipping through my illustration stash – looking for some inspiration to create an house warming gift for a friend. I came across these dogs that I had ‘sitting’ around for ages. I don’t remember what my inspiration was for drawing these dogs – I think I did them because they were cute, or maybe, I did them as coloring pages for a niece or nephew. Anyway, my friend loves dogs more than she likes humans, so I knew they would be perfect to use in a project for her.

Since I am going through my pillow making phase, I decided to use the dog illustrations on a pillow. Now all I have to do is combine these cute dogs with something ultra modern with a pop of color.

I decided to ‘pose’ the  dogs on my dining room chairs.  I took a picture of the chair, opened it in Illustrator and created a vector image of the chair.

My Dining room chair

I wanted the color of the chair to be more vibrant, so that the colors will pop once it is printed. Orange and Yellow should do the trick. I think those colors will look great on a black and white checkered background.

Once the design was complete, I did a mock up in Photo Shop to get an idea of the final look.

So far so good… Lets see how it will look on the my dining room chair… Not bad…

Now for the fun part.  I printed the design to 100% organic cotton fabric and head over to my sewing machine to make a pillow.

BTW, I made a pair

wuf, wuf

See ya next time.

XOXO

  6. What a cute pillow. Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. I would love to have a digital printer for my fabric but they are too expensive for me! Great site!

  7. That turned out so, so cute! I wish my printer would print on fabric. I am afraid to try ever since I tried to print paper bags and they got horribly jammed!
